New Woman’s Anthology – I Feel Great about My Hands: and other unexpected joys of aging

In keeping with their penchant for publishing great anthologies, Douglas & McIntyre have released an anthology as a counterpoint to Nora Ephron’s NYT bestselling  I Feel Bad about My Neck (a supposedly “hilarious look at women who are getting older and dealing with the tribulations of maintenance, menopause, empty nests, and life itself.”

Edited by award-winning woman’s advocate Shari Graydon, this anthology invited “notable women from across Canada—all over 50—to provide an alternative perspective.”

These women submitted stories, poems and essays. Royalties from the book will benefit Media Action, an organization dedicated to challenging the under-representation and sexualization of women in the media.

It includes pieces by many notable Atlantic Canadians, such as
- Mary Walsh
- Carol Bruneau
- Sheree Fitch
- Dawn Rae Downton

If you happen to be in Halifax: Tuesday the 16th, from 12-2, at the Halifax club, you can have lunch with and chat about the book with contributors Sheree Fitch, Carol Bruneau, and Dawn Rae Downton, after they all read from it, as part of the Halifax Literary Luncheon Series.
