Chad Pelley, Michael Crummey, Jesse Ferguson, and Tom Dawe all up for CAA Literary Awards

The Canadian Authors Association released its shortlists for its many awards today, and winners will be announced at the CAA Literary Awards banquet on June 26, 2010,  in Victoria, BC during the association’s 2010 CanWrite! Conference June 24–27. The shortlisted authors will be invited to read from their work on Friday, June 25 at Harbour Towers. Mosaid Award for Fiction

Michael Crummey’s Galore is up for the Mosaid Award for fiction (alongside Annabel Lyon (The Golden Mean) and Ian Weir (Daniel O’Thunder)).

CAA Award for Poetry

Tom Dawe’s Where Genesis Begins is up for the CAA Award for Poetry. This is more than a poetry book, it is also a nicely done art book, as it is a collaboration between Tom and artist Gerald Squires. Read more here.

CAA/Bookland Press Emerging Writer Award

Chad Pelley and Jesse Ferguson are up for the emerging writer award. Chad for his debut novel, Away from Everywhere, some short fiction, and this literary blog, Salty Ink, and Jesse for his poetry, work at The Fiddlehead, and his great collection, Harmonics.
